  • After School Programs – In a special partnership with the Schenectady School District, students from the three middle schools and high school can elect to participate in three different programs that highlight careers in the arts: Acting Academy, Middle School Film Program, TheatreTECH, and Film and Music.  
  • Broadway shows – With the very best of touring Broadway right here in the Capital Region, why go elsewhere? 
  • Broadway Tech – Under the guidance of distinguished professionals, the Broadway Tech program immerses production students in an atmosphere of professional theatre. 
  • C.A.S.T – The Cultivating Arts & Students Together (C.A.S.T.) programs at Proctors and theREP pair youth (grade 9 and up) with volunteers to give them an in-depth and entertaining learning experience.
  • Film & media programs – Proctors hosts several film, music and video programs throughout the year, offering skill- based training, internships and apprentice opportunities for youth. In addition, Proctors is home to Open Stage Media television, providing an outlet to showcase the work done by the next generation of media-makers.
  • Internships – Internships offer undergraduate and graduate an in-depth experience of working in a not-for-profit theatre company. Training is supplemented with discussions and workshops with directors, designers and senior staff who provide insight into the overall management of the company.
  • High School Musical Theatre Awards – Our annual High School Musical Theatre Awards, fashioned after Broadway’s Tony Awards, celebrates the achievements of the region’s theatre students, highlighting the importance of arts and theatre education.
  • High School Theatre Festival – This opportunity allows students to participate in a full-day musical theatre festival by offering opportunities to strengthen, promote, and share artistic skills within an interactive and supportive theatre environment. 
  • Master Classes – Our Broadway Master Class Series offers the exclusive opportunity for professional–level training for career development.
  • MediaWorks – An in school program for 9th grade English classes to use media as a conduit for teaching. Currently at Schenectady High School and Ballston Spa High School.
  • School day shows – Students experience live theatre and while learning curriculum at the same time in our historic MainStage or our intimate black box GE Theatre. Curriculum guides are available to reinforce key concepts before and after the field trip.
  • Summer programs – We offer a wide range of programming each summer.  
  • TheatreTalks – The Henry Schaffer TheatreTalk series offers pre- or post-performance arts discussions to ticket buyers free of charge. The discussions are delivered by company artists to engage patrons in a unique forum for learning about a specific performance. 
  • TheatreTECH – A workforce development, TheatreTECH, teaches is a hands-on training program for learning technical theatre in the Addy Theatre.
