Acting Academy

A place where imaginations can run wild, and self-confidence is promoted, Acting Academy is an after-school program that fosters an environment where students are welcome to express themselves while learning about of the world of theatre! Acting Academy strives to create a safe space for students to explore and expand their minds in a personal and professional manner while learning skills to use in and outside of the classroom. This program culminates in May with a performance of a Junior version of a popular Broadway show.

This program will focus on: 

  • Acting 
  • Improv 
  • Theatre terminology
  • Voice Expression and Tone
  • Physicality 
  • Careers in the arts

    And much, much more!

Acting Academy is offered to Schenectady City School District students, in grades 6–8. We are currently accepting students for the 2021-22 school year. Due to COVID-19 protocols, this program is limited to 22 students with a waiting list for those interested.

Program Details: 

The program occurs 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday when school is in session.  

Program Begins: Tuesday, October 12, 2021 
Program Ends: Thursday, May 5, 2022
