Acting for Students 7-10

Acting Schmackting – As an introduction to the theatre, students will have fun through theatre games, movement, music, scene work and vocal exercises while learning confidence, creativity and personal growth. This acting class will encourage students to use their imagination and teach the fundamentals of acting while learning basics of acting honestly and to perform in front of an audience. Immersive Creative Theatre – Students will learn theatre games, movement, music, scene work and vocal exercises with emphasis on confidence, creativity, and personal growth. This acting class encourage students to use their imagination and teach the fundamentals of acting while learning the basics of performing in front of an audience. Thursdays – 6-7p.m. – The Addy Dance Studio – $125 – Beginner/Intermediate

Acting for the Stage
– Students will engage in performance exploration, address and break down stage presence and movement and body mind connection. Improv and its different forms will be explored. Work in scene study, including character development, scene goals, and learn how to work with other actors in a scene. Saturdays – 9-10:30a.m. – The Addy Theatre – $140 – All levels

Acting for Adults 19+

Acting – It’s Not Too Late! – Students will explore scenes from popular TV shows, movies and musicals. This diverse acting class will be a safe and encouraging place to be creative and play imaginatively. Basic acting techniques will be explored to help you feel confident and grow as a performer. Dance for Students 11-13

Broadway Dance Basics – Designed for those who have no previous dance training, students will learn basics of dance and how it applies to musical theatre. Learn and build basic dance terminology and the steps associated with them as you explore dance styles. By the end of the class you will gain a new confidence. Broadway Dance – Students will learn dance from beginner to advanced levels covering the canon of musical theater. Classes will encompass several styles including jazz, ballet and modern. Broadway Dance Styles – Beginner to advanced students will explore a variety of musical styles that can be used for fun or to help improve your audition. Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre for Students 11-13

Musical Audition Basics
– An introduction to musical theater performance styles. Class will focus on learning different styles of musical theater and creating a character through song. We will explore several aspects of theater and music including improvisation and basic sight-reading. This is the perfect class for students starting their exploration of musical theater and for students working towards their first audition. Musical Theatre for Students 14-18

Broadway Musical Audition – This class will work with students on strengthening their audition repertoire. Focus will be on creating/maintaining an audition book, character research, solo singing and advanced ensemble singing. Students will learn how to give and receive constructive criticism and fine tune their critical listening skills. This is a class for intermediate students looking to strengthen their repertoire and prepare for more musically challenging roles. Saturdays – 9-10:30a.m. – The Addy Orchestra Room – $140 – All Levels

Filmmaking

Film for Students 11-13

Filmmaking I – This class is an introduction to the tools and techniques of cinematic production. Students will learn how to use video cameras and editing software to create artwork of their own. Students will be introduced to various film genres such as documentary, experimental and fictional narrative, and think critically about the creative process. No previous video experience is required. Saturdays – 9-11a.m. – The Addy Media Lab – $150 – Beginner

Film for Students 14-18

Filmmaking II – This class will present students with various theoretical, technical and creative methods of cinematic production. Students will be introduced to methods of production planning and design, as well as advancing the technical video skills of cinematography, sound recording, lighting and editing through Adobe Premiere Pro; how to set up their projects, conduct non-linear editing, color correction, edit audio files, make titles, exporting and posting their videos online (Vimeo, YouTube, and other social media) This class is suitable for students who have some hands-on experience with film and video making. Saturdays – 11a.m.-1p.m. –The Addy Media Lab – $150 – All levels
