Career Development

Through hands-on learning experience, our students will gain the skills and knowledge needed to move forward with a career in the arts.

  • BroadwayTECH – A 4-week course for students who want to learn more about the process of “tech”-ing a show, and the careers within.
  • Internships – Internships offer undergraduate and graduate an in-depth experience of working in a not-for-profit theatre company. Training is supplemented with discussions and workshops with directors, designers, and senior staff who provide insight into the overall management of the company.
  • MediaWorks – An Arts-in-Education program held in partnership with Schenectady School District, designed to integrate media arts with Common Core curriculum to create new pathways and environments for student success.
  • TheatreTalks – The Henry Schaffer TheatreTalk series offers pre- or post-performance arts discussions to ticket buyers free of charge. The discussions are delivered by company artists to engage patrons in a unique forum for learning about a specific performance.
  • TheatreTECH – An innovative new program that offers training and certification in technical theatre production. Through HANDS-ON TRAINING in the Addy facilities by real industry professionals, this program can lead to paid job opportunities as technicians for various events at Proctors or other local performing arts venues.
