Acting Academy

Join us for another exhilarating year of acting, improv, workshops and much more! A place where imaginations can run wild and self-confidence is promoted, Acting Academy is an after-school program that fosters an environment where students are welcome to express themselves while learning about the world of theatre! Acting Academy strives to create a safe space for students to explore and expand their minds in a personal and professional manner while learning skills to use in and outside of the classroom. This program culminates in May with a performance of a junior version of a popular Broadway show. 

Highlight this year include: 

  • A role in our spring musical 
  • Workshops in dance, improv makeup and more 
  • A chance to see a Broadway show here at Proctors  

Acting Academy is offered to Schenectady City School District students in grades 6–8.   

Program Details:  
Program dates: October 16, 2023-May 16, 2024 
Hours: 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, when school is in session 
Performances: 6 p.m. May 14 – 16
