Broadway Camp

Develop your passion for being on stage, behind-the-scenes, or in the orchestra this summer! Proctors and Capital Repertory Theatre combine talents to deliver a summer opportunity that cannot be missed. Broadway professionals instruct students in every aspect of putting on a show! Be one of the few that perform on the MainStage, where legends have performed. This program will give you the skills and opportunities to hone your craft, all while preparing for a full-scale production at Proctors. Know every word of your favorite musicals? Want to learn even more about Broadway and how to be under the lights one day as a triple threat? Broadway Camp Jr. has master classes in acting, voice and dance to hone your skills. With seasoned Broadway professionals as instructors, each student receives helpful tips on tone, breath, and hitting their marks. They’ll be alongside supportive peers who share their interests and dreams. Plus get a professional headshot!

Acting Out! – SOLD OUT

Tuition: $250

Let your aspiring actor take the stage! Each aspiring actor needs to start with the basic skills of projection, cooperation with others, trusting their instinct, creativity and most importantly having fun! This is a full week of playing games and building self-confidence along with learning basics of acting. Then, a final performance for family and friends to see how much they have learned!

Acting Intensive

When: July 17-21, 2017
M-F 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Age Range: 13 – 18
Tuition: $300
Location: theREP
Experience: Intermediate to Advanced

Join theREP for a series of master classes culminating in preparing an audition monologue. This amazing week, led by theatre industry professionals, will give students individualized guidance and the opportunity to hone their skills in areas such as scene & partner work, character development, speech & movement for the stage, monologues and acting technique. Students must have previous performance experience or have been a part of STAR, Acting Intensive or Summer Stage Young Acting Company. Space is limited but your potential isn’t! Financial Aid available.

Improv Anywhere!

When: July 17-21, 2017
M-F 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.
Age Range: 9 – 13

Experience: Intermediate  

With creativity and listening at the forefront, fill your child’s world with imaginary settings! Students play games to learn how to react on the spot, build self-confidence and inspire spontaneity. Their end-of-the-week performance will reveal their imaginative world to everyone!

Summer Stage Young Acting Company

Dates: July 24 – August 13

Experience: Intermediate to Advanced

This company makes up the performers that will bring five winning plays from theREP’s Young Playwright Contest to life. Members of the Young Acting Company will receive daily classes in: acting, speech for the stage, character development, and stage movement from professionals int he field. Company members are also guaranteed at least 2-speaking roles within the five winning plays. Auditions are held throughout the Spring for Summer Stage Young Acting Company. Imagine That!

Strip away the stigma and unlearn embarrassment through improv games, group inventions, and prop-based skits to embrace the theatre. This wild, no-holding-back drama class is great for middle schoolers who want a fun way to learn skills necessary for every actor. Each student will be excited to show off in the performance at the end of the week!
