Broadway Camp AIDA

Dates: July 9 – August 3 | M–F | 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Ages: 14 – 19
Location: MainStage at Proctors
Experience: Intermediate to Advanced

Proctors and Capital Repertory Theatre collaborate to provide the summer program that cannot be missed! Students work together on all three aspects of a full-scale production to cultivate your passion in the theatre! From on-stage, behind-the-scenes, and in the orchestra, Broadway professionals instruct students in every aspect of putting on a show. This program will give you the skills and opportunities to hone your craft with Broadway professionals, all while preparing for a full-scale production at Proctors. Be one of the few that rehearse and perform on the MainStage at Proctors, where legends have performed!

Costume Design

Dates: July 9 – 13 | 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Ages: 10 – 14
Tuition: $250
Location: The Addy Theatre at Proctors
Experience: Intermediate

Do you have a love for fashion and costumes? Learn the basics of costume design with an overview of the history, period and styles of clothing and how that applies to theatrical costumes.  Learn the process from concept to creation as students evaluate character needs through class discussion and apply your own creative interpretation in the making of a unique costume. Working with found everyday clothing, supplied by the class, and reimagine them with various techniques and crafts. Student’s take home their costumes at the end of the class.

Special Effects and FX Makeup

Dates: July 16 – 20 | 1 – 4:30 p.m.
Ages: 11 – 14
Tuition: $200 + $40 Materials Fee
Location: MainStage Dressing Rooms at Proctors
Experience: Introductory
Presented by THE COSTUMER

This fun, hands-on exploration into the world of stage make-up includes a variety of themes and styles, including age and character make-up, scars, and special effects. Students will experiment with the fundamentals of make-up, color theory and coordination, sanitation and hygiene, highlights and shadows, cuts and bruises, and more. At the conclusion of this program, the student will be able to take home a photo portfolio of their work.

Each student will receive a Student Stage Make-up Kit and Severe Trauma Kit to use at camp and enjoy at home.

Creating Effects: Advanced Makeup Techniques

Dates: August 6 – 10 | 1 – 4:30 p.m.
Ages: 15 – 18
Tuition: $220 + $75 Materials Fee
Location: MainStage Dressing Rooms at Proctors
Experience: Intermediate to Advanced
Presented by THE MAKEUP CURIO

This advanced makeup class delves into the professional film world by learning pro techniques on foam latex, aging, hair and more. Students will learn to apply and paint a prosthetic, create old age with stretch and stipple, build their facial hair, and more. At the conclusion of this program, the students will be able to take home a photo portfolio of their work.

Each student will receive professional quality adhesive and remover, brushes, a prosthetic, and materials for facial hair making and more to use at camp and enjoy at home.
